Better Day 2022 – What’s It All About?
SHARE POSTAt Better Pros, we like to think big. We don’t do anything halfway, so if we were going to have a big end-of-the-year party to cap off 2022, we were going to pull out all the stops! And, on Saturday, November 5th, we did just that with Better Day, an epic event that spanned four Latin American cities simultaneously:
Now, many would see such a massive undertaking as something close to impossible. After all, organizing an event that mixes 350+ in-person attendees across different locations is difficult enough. Add streaming to that equation, and it looks like a recipe for trouble.
But, at Better Pros, we’re lucky to have a team up to any challenge. Not only was our team able to coordinate everything seamlessly, but they also made it look easy!
Of course, we don’t want to spoil the events of the day for you, that would be a big no-no. There’s a lot to cover, plenty of successes to celebrate, and so many great moments to relive.
Join us for a tour through our unforgettable first Better Day!
Where?
In Buenos Aires, the choice of venue was the Howard Johnson Hotel & Convention Center, in Ezeiza. Its vast country grounds and luxurious resort gave us a unique opportunity to enjoy a day out in the sun.
It had everything green, open spaces, a lagoon, two swimming pools, conference and meeting rooms, and a top-of-the-line catering service. And hey, the fact that they also had a completely stocked bar didn’t hurt either.
And its location, far removed from downtown Buenos Aires, offered an excellent opportunity to relax and bond together away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Also, with a projected attendance of over 70 people, it needed to be able to comfortably host the largest number of people out of all four locations.
Needless to say, it was the right choice, and the results spoke for themselves. Come the day of the event, Howard Johnson had everything ready for an unforgettable afternoon.
The Breakfast
The first group arrived right on time at 11 am, a perfect time for brunch. A large table was set with coffee, croissants, and other delicacies, ready for everyone to enjoy. And they were going to need their energy for the activities ahead!
It was also a great chance for the team to break the ice and start the first round of conversation because many hadn’t met each other in person yet!
Now, at Better Pros, we’re firm believers in the power of 100% remote work. But that doesn’t believe we don’t understand how important it is to connect in person once in a while!
And that was the idea for the Better Day: we have a highly distributed team made up of hundreds of Better Pros (BPs) and members of our internal team (Sales, Core, Recruiting, Design, and Marketing). And while many of us work together day in, and day out, we can’t always take time off our busy schedules to hang out!
So, breakfast was the moment of those tentative first hugs when everyone was able to break the barriers of their laptop cameras and finally hug it out.
It was also a prime chance for the members of the internal team to meet many of the BPs, whom they don’t usually work with directly. If there’s something we’re especially happy about, it’s how quickly everyone hit it off!
But that doesn’t mean everything we’d planned for Better Day was to sit around in the warm November sun quietly sipping coffee.
After giving everyone time to arrive and help themselves to some food, it was on to the team-building activities!
