Drafter for Luxury Residential Projects (Part Time, New York)

About this job

Are you a detail-oriented Draftsperson with strong technical skills and a passion for high-end residential design? Do you enjoy transforming design concepts into precise, high-quality drawings while supporting teams across multiple project phases? We’re looking for a Drafter to join a dynamic, award-winning studio working on luxury residential projects in New York.
This role focuses on execution and production, supporting architectural teams from Schematic Design through Construction Documentation. You’ll work closely with principals and senior architects to translate design intent into accurate and coordinated drawings, ensuring consistency and quality across all deliverables. This is a part-time opportunity aligned with New York working hours.

What you will do

  • Produce accurate architectural drawings and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Support project architects across Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), and especially Construction Documentation (CD) phases.
  • Develop and assist in the preparation of floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawing sets.
  • Create and coordinate 3D models during SD and DD phases.
  • Contribute to DD deliverables, including CD sets, quick renderings, walkthroughs, watercolor visuals, and sketches.
  • Execute redlines and revisions with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Translate design intent into clear, technically sound documentation.
  • Perform field measurements and document existing conditions (photos, markups, and as-builts).
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date project files and drawing sets.
  • Coordinate internally with team members to ensure consistency and quality across all documentation.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously (typically 2–4), meeting deadlines and priorities.
  • Assist in preparing drawing sets for client presentations and permit submissions.
  • Ensure all drawings align with U.S. standards, codes, and documentation practices.

What you'll need to know

  • Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proven experience producing architectural drawings and construction documents across SD, DD, and CD phases.
  • Advanced English level with good communication skills.
  • Experience working on high-end or luxury residential projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills and reliability in meeting project requirements.

A great plus

  • Experience working within U.S.-based architectural workflows, codes, and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for presentations.
  • Experience with SketchUp for additional modeling capabilities.
  • Experience working in collaborative or hybrid studio environments.
