Are you a detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter with experience in residential projects and a strong understanding of construction documentation? Do you enjoy producing accurate, buildable drawings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams? We’re looking for an AutoCAD Drafter to support a U.S.-based firm working on wood-frame residential and small commercial projects.

What you will do

  • Produce Design Development (DD) and Construction Document (CD) drawing sets in AutoCAD, including floor plans, sections, and elevations.
  • Develop permit-ready construction document sets for submission to local authorities.
  • Create and support 3D modeling during the DD phase when applicable.
  • Coordinate architectural drawings with engineering disciplines, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Implement redline corrections and design revisions efficiently and accurately.
  • Develop and maintain drawing standards and quality control processes to ensure consistency across all sheets.
  • Assist with project documentation and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers and consultants to ensure proper design coordination.
  • Support projects focused on wood framing construction systems for residential (single-family) and small commercial developments.

What you'll need to know

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Proven experience producing full construction document (CD) sets.
  • Advanced English level.
  • Strong technical drafting skills with the ability to produce complete and accurate drawing packages.
  • Understanding of building codes, wood frame (2x) construction methods, and architectural detailing using Imperial measurements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to project needs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

A great plus

  • Experience with residential (single-family) and/or small commercial projects.
  • Experience with SketchUp for 3D modeling.
  • Experience with Enscape for rendering.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based firms.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
