About this job

Are you a Scan-to-BIM specialist who can turn point cloud data into precise, reliable models and documentation? Do you think like a project manager, scoping work, estimating timelines, and delivering on your commitments, while keeping your client informed every step of the way? Are you excited to help build and lead a growing service from the ground up?

We’re looking for a BIM Modeler to join one of our clients, a construction company based in Florida that has recently expanded into laser scanning, modeling, and documentation services. This is a flexible, remote position with a workload that varies with project demand, and you must be available to work in Eastern Standard Time (EST). This role has strong growth potential: as the service expands, you’ll have the opportunity to lead the Scan-to-BIM area and manage a team of professionals. Apply now!

BetterPros unlocks human potential by offering competitive compensation, flexibility, constant learning and growth, and the opportunity to work anywhere you want with one of our +130 active clients across the United States.

What you will do

Receive point cloud data from the client’s scanning team and turn it into accurate Revit models and documentation sets for commercial projects.
Define the Scope of Work (SOW) with the client for each project, clarifying deliverables, level of detail, and expectations from the start.
Estimate the time and effort each project needs, set realistic deadlines, and consistently meet them.
Develop 3D models and produce SD and DD drawing sets, including floor plans, sections, and elevations.
Prepare CD permit sets for submission to local authorities.
Follow and continuously improve the established procedures, checklists, and workflows for Scan-to-BIM production.
Communicate proactively with the client, sharing regular progress updates, flagging risks or delays early, and making sure there are no surprises on delivery.
Perform quality control to ensure consistency and accuracy between the point cloud, models, and drawings.
Keep project files organized and prepare PDF and other deliverables.
Manage multiple projects with varying volumes and timelines while keeping accuracy and deadlines on track.
As the service grows, help shape its processes and eventually lead and coordinate other modelers to meet increasing demand.

What you'll need to know

3+ years of experience as a BIM Modeler, Scan-to-BIM Modeler, or Revit Production Specialist.
Hands-on experience with Scan-to-BIM workflows, working from point cloud data.
Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
Experience working on commercial projects.
Advanced English level.
Solid understanding of the project lifecycle (SD through CD) and of construction documentation, including permit sets.
Proven ability to estimate work, define scope, and set and meet realistic deadlines.
Excellent, proactive communication skills, with the habit of keeping clients informed without being asked.
Strong self-management skills, taking full ownership of your time, deliverables, and scope of work.
A project manager mindset and an entrepreneurial spirit, with genuine interest in growing beyond task execution and helping build a new service line.
Comfort with a flexible, fluctuating workload in the early stages, with the drive to grow alongside the role.

A great plus

Experience with NavVis scanners or NavVis point cloud data.
Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating other drafters or modelers.
Background in project management or client-facing roles in the AEC industry.
Familiarity with U.S. drafting standards and BIM coordination workflows.

We’ve got the opportunity, you’ve got the talent.
We want to hear from you!
