We’re looking for a Part-Time CAD Drafter to support one of our clients in Illinois — a firm specializing in the repair, restoration, and rehabilitation of mid-rise and high-rise building exteriors. What you will do

Prepare and update CAD drawings for existing building repair, restoration, and rehabilitation projects, with a primary focus on exterior facades of mid-rise and high-rise buildings.
Draft building exterior elevations, roof plans, exterior wall details, and facade repair documentation.
Work from copies of original drawings, field inspection notes, and redline markups provided by the client.
Pick up redlines accurately and coordinate changes across related sheets — elevations, roof plans, sections, and details.
Prepare clean CAD documentation for client review, permit submission (CD permit sets), and contractor use (CDs for GC).
Support project managers and architects as a reliable CAD production resource, working with autonomy once standards and instructions are provided.
Proactively clarify scope when information is missing or unclear.

What you'll need to know

High proficiency in AutoCAD — 2D drafting, DWG file management, drawing set updates, and redline pickup.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reading existing drawings, field notes, and redline markups.
Ability to interpret technical documentation and translate client comments into clean, coordinated CAD output.
Experience working on SD through CD phases, including permit sets and construction document sets.
Organized, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision once project standards are established.
Strong technical judgment for existing building documentation and coordinated drawing sets.
Strong English communication skills.

A great plus

Experience with exterior envelope/facade documentation, roof plans, wall details, or repair and rehabilitation projects.
Familiarity with reviewing PDF markups through Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, or similar markup tools.
Background in heritage or historically significant building projects.
Experience with projects in Illinois.
