Are you an Electrical Engineer with experience in communication systems, strong Revit skills, and a passion for documenting complex technical systems? We’re looking for a Semi Senior Communication Systems Technical Drafter to join our client, based in New York, on a part-time basis with availability in Eastern Standard Time (EST).

This firm specializes in lighting, IT, sound, and communication systems for highly complex theater projects, and this position is focused on drafting and documentation, not system design.

What you will do

Produce detailed communication systems drawings based on provided designs (documentation only, no system design required).
Develop project documentation from Schematic Design (SD) through Construction Documents (CD).
SD–CD sets including floor plans, sections, and elevations.
Permit sets for submission to local authorities.
Perform 3D modeling in Revit during SD and DD phases.
Pick up and implement redlines and markups accurately during SD and CD phases.
Support Design Development (DD) documentation, including 3D modeling and drawing production.
Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project standards.
Collaborate closely with the client’s internal team to meet deadlines and documentation requirements.
Maintain organized, high-quality Revit models and drawing sets throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll need to know

Electrical Engineering background with experience in communication systems.
Proven experience as a Communication Systems Drafter or in a similar technical drafting role.
Excellent communication skills and fluent English.
Strong proficiency in Revit.
Experience producing communication or telecommunications systems drawings (documentation-focused, not design).
Solid understanding of architectural and technical drawing standards.
Ability to accurately interpret markups, redlines, and design intent.
Strong attention to detail and consistency across drawing sets.
Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.

A great plus

Experience working on theater, performance, or highly technical building projects.
Familiarity with coordination between communication, lighting, and sound systems.
Prior experience supporting SD–CD documentation workflows in U.S. projects.
