About this job

Are you a detail-oriented Structural Engineer with a focus on wood framing design? Do you enjoy collaborating with a team and contributing to well-structured, high-quality residential plans? One of our Utah-based clients is looking for a Part-Time Senior Structural Engineer to join their team, supporting custom home projects across Utah and Arizona. This is a flexible, part-time role with availability to work aligned with Mountain Time (MT).

What you will do

Prepare structural drawings and details for residential custom homes using AutoCAD and Revit.
Apply wood framing design knowledge in accordance with NDS / SDPWS standards.
Ensure compliance with U.S. building codes, including IBC, IRC, and ASCE/SEI-7.
Support structural analysis and component design using industry-standard tools.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Participate in regular video calls to review work and coordinate priorities with the team.
Optional: support tasks using Risa3D, RisaFloor, Risa Foundation, and Enercalc if familiar.

What you'll need to know

Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
Advanced English level.
5 + years of experience in structural design, specifically residential wood framing projects.
Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
Familiarity with U.S. building codes (IBC, IRC, ASCE/SEI-7).
Knowledge in wood design per NDS / SDPWS standards.
Experience working on U.S.-based residential projects.

A great plus

Experience with Risa3D, RisaFloor, Risa Foundation, or Enercalc.
