Architectural Revit Drafter (Full Time, California)

About this job

Are you a detail-oriented and skilled Revit Drafter who enjoys producing high-quality technical drawings and plans? Do you like taking ownership of your work and carrying projects from early concepts all the way through permit-ready construction documents? We’re looking for an Architectural Revit Drafter to join our design team.

This role involves working closely with our in-house team to produce high-quality technical drawings and plans across every project phase, from schematic design through construction documentation. Using Revit, you’ll translate architectural concepts into clear and accurate construction documents, including permit sets submitted to local authorities. Projects include residential (luxury) developments. This is a full-time remote opportunity aligned with Pacific Time (PT).

BetterPros unlocks human potential by offering competitive compensation, flexibility, constant learning and growth, and the opportunity to work anywhere you want with one of our +130 active clients across the United States.

What you will do

  • Produce 3D models in Revit during the Schematic Design (SD) and Design Development (DD) phases.
  • Develop SD and DD sets of plans, including floor plans, sections, and elevations.
  • Draft Construction Documents (CD), including permit sets to present to local authorities and CD sets to present to the general contractor.
  • Pick up redlines and make timely revisions across the SD, DD, and CD phases based on feedback from architects and project managers.
  • Prepare documentation that meets California permitting requirements and construction practices.
  • Work closely with architects to understand project requirements and translate design concepts into technical documents.
  • Take initiative and move drawings forward independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in preparing presentation packages and design documentation.
  • Maintain organized drawing files and documentation for all projects.
  • Follow BIM and filing standards.

What you'll need to know

  • Degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit (required).
  • Experience with California permitting and construction.
  • Experience working on residential (luxury) projects.
  • Understanding of architectural design principles, building systems, and construction methods.
  • Advanced English level and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to perform self-quality checks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

A great plus

  • 5+ years of experience in architectural drafting or a related role.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or other design software.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, QuickBooks Time, Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Teams).
