Revit Lighting Designer (Flex, California)

About this job

Can you turn design intent into precise, build-ready documentation? Are your Revit skills sharp enough to keep up with fast-paced deadlines? We are looking for a Revit Production Specialist to support an architectural lighting designer at our California-based client. This is a production-focused role, not a design position: the lighting designer provides the design, specifications and markups, and you bring it all to life in Revit. You should be available to work Pacific Standard Time (PST) for this Flex remote opportunity. Apply today!

BetterPros unlocks human potential by offering competitive compensation, flexibility, constant learning and growth, and the opportunity to work anywhere you want with one of our +130 active clients across the United States.

What you will do

  • Produce and update architectural lighting plans in Revit based on detailed design direction and markups.
  • Work with architectural Revit models and Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP) backgrounds provided by project architects.
  • Translate Bluebeam markups and lighting layouts into accurate Revit documentation.
  • Place and coordinate lighting fixtures within architectural models, incorporating the fixture and product information provided.
  • Set up, modify and create Revit families, and maintain existing family libraries.
  • Prepare Construction Documents (CDs), including permit sets for local authorities, CDs for general contractors, and redline pickups.
  • Review drawings carefully for accuracy and completeness, and incorporate revisions efficiently across project phases.
  • Coordinate closely with the lighting designer and support fast-track deadlines with quick turnarounds.

What you'll need to know

  • Proven experience as an architect, architectural professional or BIM/Revit specialist.
  • Strong command of Revit and Bluebeam.
  • A practical understanding of building construction and how lighting fixtures relate to ceilings, walls, structure and above-ceiling systems.
  • A reliable, responsive and detail-oriented approach, especially under short deadlines.
  • An Advanced English level.

A great plus

  • Previous experience in lighting design projects.
  • Experience working on US architectural or construction projects.
