Are you a detail-oriented Structural Engineer with hands-on experience in ADU design and wood framing systems? Do you thrive in collaborative environments and take pride in delivering precise, high-quality structural work? One of our California-based clients is looking for a Flex Senior Structural Engineer to join their team, supporting Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) projects across California. This is a flexible role designed to fit your schedule while contributing to meaningful residential work.

What you will do

Prepare structural drawings and details for ADU projects using Revit.
Apply wood framing design knowledge in compliance with applicable California standards.
Ensure compliance with U.S. building codes, including IBC, IRC, and ASCE/SEI-7, as well as California-specific requirements (CBC).
Perform structural calculations for ADU components and systems.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Participate in regular video calls to review work and coordinate priorities with the team.

What you'll need to know

Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
Advanced English level.
5+ years of experience in structural design, with a focus on residential wood framing projects.
Advanced proficiency in Revit.
Strong knowledge of wood framing construction systems.
Familiarity with U.S. building codes (IBC, IRC, ASCE/SEI-7) and California Building Code (CBC).
Experience working on U.S.-based residential or ADU projects.

A great plus

Prior experience specifically with ADU permitting and design workflows in California.
